DIPSCOOP


We humbly hope that you must have read the first issue of our newsletter. We are delighted to inform
you that a good number of our students are eager to be associated with it, specially with  the lay out
and  the design. This is quite encouraging as it proves we have been successful in motivating our kids
to go that extra mile…beyond their curriculum.  As rightly conveyed by J. Akhila of Class IX-D:

No mountain is too high to scale
No task is too hard to accomplish
For we are Dipsites …..
Driven by passion, burning bright.

It was virtually  a field day for the students of Class III & IV as they had a day off from academics
when they went on their Field Trip.

The way to a person’s heart is through his stomach. How truly said!!! The students of Class V & VI organized ,  with the help of their teachers , FOOD WITHOUT FIRE.

The students of Class IX & X are busy with their Revison Tests and it is fervently hoped that these
tests will help them sail smoothly through their portion for the Final Examination. The teachers are leaving no stone unturned in their mission to help students excel academically .

C Prashanthi of Class X won the II Prize ( ` 3000/- )  in an Elocution Contest , the topic of which was:
“ Karna  -- Injustice from Birth to Death”.

Srishti Gupta of Class III-B secured the III Runner Up Prize at the National Level Mental Arithmetic
Competition organized by Aloha India held at Chennai on 26th December 2010.

Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan conducted an Inter School Debate on “Alleviate Poverty, Tackle Climate Change” on 15th December 2010.  Sandeep Uppaluri of Class X won the Best Speaker Prize.
C. Prashanthi and Sandeep Uppaluri (of Class X) won the Best Team Prize.

In the Short Film Making Workshop and Competition conducted by Oakridge International School on December 10th and 11th 2010 our Dipsites won the First Prize for the Best Film.  The team comprised Montek Singh and Pratibha Bhardwaj of Class VII, Nikhil Cherukuri and Ananya Sahoo of Class IX.

P. Venika of Class II-G won the Karamveer Puraskar  for her contribution to homeless children by
selling her paintings.


OUR BRIGHT STARS

Our Dipsites not only prove their mettle in academics but also in the Sporting Arena.

In the Dr. Murthi Memorial Cricket Tournament, conducted by Howard Public School, our boys won the
Runner Up Trophy. The Best Bowler award went to Vikram Venkatesh of Class X. The team comprised Sai
Prakeerth, N Sai Krishna, S Sai Charan, A Tarun Reddy, Y Varun Anish Reddy, Romit Sen, B Bhargava,
Md. Faraz, Arun Lal, K Sai Harshith, N Bhanu Praneeth, A V Santosh & Tejasva Singh Tomar all from Class X.




Novoneel Chakraborthy, our Head Boy won the Best Player Award in the 8th Dr. Emanuel Inter School Basket Ball Tournament   conducted by St Andrews School, Secunderabad. The Senior Boys won a cash award of Rs 4200 for qualifying to the Semi Finals. Krishna Chaitanya, Novoneel Chakraborthy, Vamsi Reddy, R Ashish, Varun Bector, K Vineet, P Vikram Sinha, C Sai Dheeraj, Ranvith Reddy, Kaustubh Srivastava, Mehul Shankar, V Santosh & C Nikhil represented DPS Hyderabad in this category.

The Junior Boys , Akhilesh Talluri, S Srinivas, Ashwin Natarajan, Vaibhav Mehrotra & Pravar Jain all from
Class VIII secured the III Position in the R.R. Dist. Basket ball Tournament conducted by Word & Deed School, Hayath Nagar.

The students who have been selected for the STATE LEVEL matches are:
Novoneel C, Varun Bector, Akhilesh Talluri, Ashwin Natarajan, R Namrata, Sreeta Reddy, P Srividya,
Roshni Medasani & Neha Varma.

Hardik S Chawda of Class V has been doing well in Golf. Apart from winning the First Position in the tournament conducted by A.P. State Junior Golf Tournament, he has carved a niche for himself in other tournaments conducted at Bengaluru, Mysore and Chennai.

Adding yet another feather to our cap, our Dipsites won accolades in  Skating.
Aayush Garg & Neel M Doshi of Class IV, V Shirish of Class V, Shaik Abdul Majid of Class VII, R.P. Chueliyadao
& M Pardha of Class VIII won Gold Medals in the tournaments organized by Nalgonda Dist. RSF, Medak Dist RSF & Hyderabad Dist RSF.

At the CBSE South Zone Skating Championship 2010, held at DRS International School, Hyderabad,
Neel M. Doshi and  Ayush Garg of Class IV won Bronze Medals and R.P. Chueliyadao (VIII) secured a
Silver Medal.

In the CBSE South Zone Tennis Tournament conducted by Oakridge International School, G Sruti Kirti, Saranya Nagpal, T Nikhitha & B Dhanishka Reddy emerged Winners in the Under 14 Girls Team.

Our water babies have also done us proud in Swimming.  A Atokshay of Class VI & Akhila Kolli of Class V
 secured the First Position in the Annual Swimming Gala conducted by Jubilee Hills International Centre.

Children’s Day was celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm. The students of Classes I to IV had a whale of a time  . The teachers got together to organize yummy  goodies and exciting games . It was indeed a memorable day for the  little ones.
We are happy that one parent commended the efforts of the school and the teachers and expressed her views through the almanac.

Ms Anupama Peddineni , a Class III F parent stated:  ‘ My child had loads of fun. Thanks to all your effort in making this happen’.

In the  Science Exhibition  conducted by the AP Science Congress in collaboration with JNTU, Hyderabad, three of our students, Sai Dheeraj, A Krishna Chaitanya and Shantanu Gupta presented their exhibits: Brainwave Mapping Entrainment and Robotics . Their creative work secured the II PRIZE among 25 exhibits.

Ms. Sandhya Pratap, Head, Dept of Chemistry,  who accompanied the students says, ‘ The students had  a wonderful exposure. They  got to interact with eminent scientists like Dr. Mohan Rao, Secretary, AP Science Congress and Dr Reddy, Vice Chancellor, JNTU who incidentally were delegates at this annual meet’.

In an age where moral values seems to have taken a backseat, we are proud to have children who are familiar and well versed in Hindu mythology.

Three students of Class X  Prashanthi C , Pratheek Rebala and  Kartik Reddy represented the school in the Mythology Quiz conducted by Sree Ram Navami Cultural Festival Organization at Keyes Girls High school, Secunderabad and bagged the FIRST PRIZE of Rs 10,000.

When asked what inspired him to take part in such a contest as kids these days, look forward to dance and reality shows , Pratheek Rebala  shares with the readers his  experience:  ‘ There is no situation in human life to which The Mahabharata has no solution’.
Prashanthi C chipped in ‘ Considering the fact that over 750 students turned up for the contest, the need to preserve our culture and heritage is surely taking root in the younger generation.’

Orchids International School  conducted a Junior Leadership Contest. Twelve schools participated in this contest and once again DPS Hyderabad  walked away with the FIRST PRIZE in the Team Category. 

In the Individual category,  Aishwarya S of Class IX bagged the FIRST PRIZE and  Santosh Vallabhaneni  of Class IX bagged the THIRD PRIZE.

The six students who participated were:  Santosh V,  Srujan C ,  Aishwarya S, from Class IX and Ashwin Natarajan, Dhruvika Sahni and Roshni Medasani  from Class VIII.

This is what Santosh Vallabhaneni  of Class IX had to say: ‘ The contest tested all our capabilities in all spheres. It was indeed a unique and invigorating experience’.

To inculcate and foster the reading habit, Scholastic India conducted a Book Review Contest for the students of Class VI . The children had to prepare a poster pertaining to the book of their choice and later write a book review.

CONGRATULATIONS  to Pooja Bahukhandi, Athokshay, Mekhala Jambolkar and Sriya Suri for their commendable work.

Commenting about her review on Hetty Feather , Pooja Bahukhandi remarked that she enjoyed Jacqueline Wilson’s heart rending stories on sensitive issues. To the query, ‘ What, about the protagonist,  did you like the most? Pooja remarked :’ It’s her talent for picturing things that overwhelms me’.

Sporting News
Master Ankit Sharma of Class II  secured the II PRIZE in Roller Skating conducted by Nalgonda District Roller Skating Association in October 2010. This lil champ will be participating in the State Level Roller Skating Championship to be held at Vishakapatnam on 6th December 2010.

ALL THE VERY BEST,  ANKIT!!!!     MAY YOU COME BACK WITH  MORE LAURELS!!!
